So, during the holidays, I went with my family to Thermopolis to go to the Dinosaur Museum and see some of the hot springs. Unfortunately, while getting close to the Teepee Fountain to get a closer look at the cool mixture of hot water, ice, and mineral deposits, I mistook some slick ice for snow and immediately slipped and hit the ground hard. Luckily, Thermopolis has a wonderful hospital that quickly took care of me. I only needed six stiches, though now I have a Harry Potter-looking scar:
The nurse was initially annoyed with me because, when she asked what my pain felt like between 1 and 10 with 10 being excruciating, I replied, after some thought, "0". I think my family felt more pain for me than I did. My shoulder is still a little sore. I slipped so quickly that I didn't even have time to try and use my arms to brace myself, so I'm sure I tweaked it in some weird way.
When we got home to Heather and her parents, we initially discussed that the cover story would be that a deer hoofed me in the head. Unfortunately, the story got garbled since my brothers came in first and were looking quite amused. When Heather saw me, the first question she had was, "Is the car okay?" I felt really loved right then. :-)
